Facilitators
Standard v0.1 for Consultation
Resources for partners facilitating consultation discussions
Many of the organisations and individuals we’re working with are supporting or facilitating discussions with pastoralists and Indigenous Peoples as part of this consultation.
We see this as a locally led process – shaped by context, relationships and experience. The materials below are designed to support that, while keeping things as simple and flexible as possible.
What these resources are for
These materials are here to help you:
- Introduce the RSC Standard (previously the Global Rangelands Standard, GRS) in a way that is clear and accessible
- Facilitate open, grounded discussion
- Capture feedback in a way that can be meaningfully used
- Adapt the process to your local context
They are not intended to be prescriptive. Please use and adapt them as needed.
Available resources
- Facilitator Guide – Guidance on framing the Standard, facilitating discussions, and managing group dynamics
- Consultation Reporting Guide – Guidance on how to capture and synthesise feedback
- Workshop Data Reporting Template – Downloadable light-touch structure to support consistent data capture
- PPT Slide Deck (in development) – A simple, visual overview to support discussion
A few guiding principles
- Focus on lived experience and practical realities
- Create space for a range of voices, including those less often heard
- Avoid steering participants toward particular answers
- Treat this as a conversation, not a validation exercise
Submitting feedback
Please use the reporting template where possible, and submit to: consultation@rangelandstewardship.org
If your format looks different, that’s absolutely fine – clarity and insight matter more than structure.
Support available
We’re happy to support you with:
- Introductory or check-in calls
- Talking through how best to approach a workshop
